Egg cryopreservation
It is the technique that provides the greatest guarantees for preserving a woman's fertility.
It consists of the same steps as an In Vitro Fertilization treatment, with the difference that the eggs will not be inseminated; they will be cryopreserved through vitrification.
The main advantage of this procedure is that the eggs can be cryopreserved at an appropriate age and in better conditions than what might occur over time or due to the negative effects of a treatment, allowing them to be stored in liquid nitrogen for as long as desired.
The vitrification procedure is very similar to that of embryos, with slight modifications that allow for optimizing the survival of the oocytes during the process.
The survival rate of oocytes after treatment is higher in women under 35, and clinical use has shown the same success rates as fresh oocytes.
- Women with gestational desire who do not want to be affected by age.
- Women who are going to undergo chemotherapy to combat cancer or any type of treatment that may have a negative effect on the ovaries (surgery).
- Women with poor ovarian response to stimulation who require undergoing a Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis procedure and thus need to have a sufficient number of embryos.
