With donor sperm (IAD)

Artificial insemination is a simple treatment that consists of the assisted deposition of sperm in the woman's uterus. In this procedure, ovulation is programmed to temporarily coincide the egg with the sperm capable of fertilizing it.

In women, there should be no barrier preventing communication between the ovary and the uterine cavity, and at least one of the fallopian tubes must be permeable.

At the Instituto de Fertilidad Clínica Rincón, donors are selected with an excellent sperm quality to ensure the chances of pregnancy.

In all donors, possible pathologies are ruled out through blood tests and analyses.

Donor sperm is kept cryopreserved and only samples that have passed thawing tests, ensuring a good quantity for insemination, will be used.

Donor selection is carried out based on the couple’s physical characteristics and their blood types.

What does the procedure consist of?

Artificial insemination is done in 3 easy steps:

Gentle ovarian stimulation

Gentle ovarian stimulation

The woman undergoes mild ovarian stimulation to control the growth of at least one or two eggs.

Sometimes it can be done on a natural cycle when follicular development is adequate.

Controlled ovarian stimulation increases follicular development and therefore the chances of having more than one egg available.

Sperm capacitation

Sperm capacitation

The donor's semen will be thawed and the sperm with greater mobility are recovered, which in turn are those that will have the greatest fertilizing capacity.

Insemination in consultation

Insemination in consultation

The trained sperm will be loaded into a special cannula that will be used as a transport vehicle to the inside of the uterus.

The procedure is painless and will be performed in consultation.

When is insemination indicated?

Azoospermia

In those couples in which the man has a severe alteration in the testicle that prevents him from producing sperm (azoospermia) and in which it is not possible to offer another treatment.

Hereditary disease

In those cases in which the man has a hereditary disease in which it is not possible to perform genetic counseling and subsequent PGD, and therefore presents a risk of transmitting it.

Vertically transmitted diseases

Those men who present a vertically transmitted disease that cannot be ruled out by special semen treatments.

For single women and homosexual couples

Those single women or couples of homosexual women who wish to have offspring may opt for artificial insemination with donor sperm at the Rincón Clinic Fertility Institute.
