Biopsy of the testicle

It is a complimentary technique which is offered in our assisted human reproductive service. It consists of obtaining spermatozoids from the testicle when it is impossible of obtaining it from the ejaculation. The procedure is designed to produce the least disturbance possible to the patient, by means of the analysis of the testicle tissue obtained by biopsy. Our program is coordinated to immediately cryopreserve those samples in which viable spermatozoids are obtained and to cause the least possible damage to the recuperated tissue.

This technique is required in the following cases:

- Azoospermia or absence of spermatozoids in the ejaculation.
- Those male who have previously been submitted to vasectomy and in whom the sperm content in the ejaculation is compromised.
